Dedicated to CC and Stacie - "The Encouragers"

So here I am ablogging. This first blog is a bit of a test really, to discover whether or not I'm capable of spewing out, via the medium of a blog, some of the same "Sharonisms" that accidentally leave my mouth at irregular and usually inappropraite intervals. I guess I am.

Who knew...apart from CC and SSL. Two beautiful people, inside and out. To whom I wil dedicate this virgin foray.

Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clean to the bone”: the incomparable Dorothy Parker.

Lately, I seem to have developed a fondness for quotes. Sometimes my life is akin to an existence on Sesame Street, complete with hairy mammoths, screaming musicians and little monsters who dwell in garbage. I've discovered searching for and facebooking quotes, is a cathartic manner of expression that leaves me satisfied and yet wanting more. Much more.
My Grandfather introduced me to Dorothy Parker years ago, her masterpiece "Enough Rope" had me laughing, reaching for the dictionary and scratching my head at her wonderful innuendo. Then I discovered Old Dottie was responsible for such literary jewels as "Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses."...something I found to be untrue at an early age. Men seldom admit to making passes at girls in glasses is probably more true. To be fair though, they were usually the men dating my friends. So you see, even during my teenage years I was getting into trouble that was by no means my fault. Four eyes are better than two, especially if two of them have been blacked by said best friend whose boyfriend got caught making the aforementioned passes. Ah yes, we Holyhead girls were raised to know the value of a good wallop and often of a weekend, availed ourselves of this knowledge. Sigh. Those were the days - when a good thumping solved all issues and you were all good mates again before you'd had your goodnight kebab. Holyhead ladies on the rampage - clear a path boys!

However, it's getting late and I find I am indeed capable of churning out inanities and nonsensical nostalgia...and shall continue with this blog very soon.

Goodnight.
